Onboarding Dev App Profile

The Dev App Profile in MicroZAccess is designed for granular and high-security access control to applications. Unlike Classic Profiles, it enforces strict, policy-driven access by integrating directly with:

  • Access Policies

  • App Onboard configurations

  • Group Memberships

This profile type is ideal for sensitive environments such as development, staging, and production systems where fine-grained control and compliance are required.

Prerequisites

Before creating a Dev App Profile, ensure:

  • The MicroZAccess application is installed on the endpoint

  • The user has successfully logged in

  • Required configurations are already created:

    • Access Policy

    • Applications (via App Onboard)

    • Group Memberships

Navigation
Follow the steps below to access Dev App Profile configuration:

  1. Go to Select Device tab

  2. Select the required device

  3. Navigate to: Navbar → MicroZAccess → Dev App Profile

Default Behavior

  • Unlike Classic Profile, no default profile is created

  • All Dev App Profiles must be manually configured

Creating a Dev App Profile

Step 1: Initiate, Click Add to open the profile creation form.

Step 2: Configure Profile,Enter the required details.

  • Profile Name: Provide a unique and descriptive name

  • Access Policy: Select an existing Access Policy
    (Defines conditions like OS, time, location, DPC, etc.)

  • App List: Select the required applications

  • Applications & Groups: Choose applications and their associated groups created via App Onboard

Step 3: Save, Click Add to create the Dev App Profile.

Result

  • The profile is created and visible in the Dev App Profile table

  • Access to applications is enforced based on:

    • Selected Access Policy

    • Assigned Applications and Groups

Deleting a Dev App Profile

Steps

  1. Click the Delete icon

  2. A confirmation dialog appears

  3. Click:

    • Yes → Confirm deletion

    • No → Cancel action

Result

  • The profile is permanently removed from:

    • The management table

    • Associated configurations

Additional Features

1. Profile Filtration (Column View)

  • Use the Column feature to filter profiles based on:

    • Profile Name

    • Number of Applications

    • Access Policy

2. Download Profiles

  • Click the Download button to export profile details

  • File format: CSV

  • Export Includes:

    • Profile Name

    • Access Policy

    • Associated Applications

    • Group configurations

Best Practices

  • Use clear and descriptive naming conventions
    (e.g., Prod_App_Strict_Access)

  • Always attach a well-defined Access Policy

  • Limit access to only required applications and groups

  • Avoid creating unnecessary duplicate profiles

  • Validate configuration carefully before creation
    (since editing is not supported)

  • Regularly audit and remove unused profiles

Dev App Profile acts as a strict enforcement layer, integrating with:
